Huh? Am I living in the dark ages, or did he really mean self-extracting
archive (ala PAK)? While I'm at it, what's the latest version of ZOO
for the PC and where can it be found? Mine is abysmally old.

Thanks.

zoo has done self extract for some time. I forget the name of the
program which does it, but it's part of the package. It's been posted to
the net at least twice, but if the original poster (jwright) needs a
copy I'll mail it to him. I can't be a mailer for the world at this
time, please don't ask. If lots of people still want it I'll put it on a
BBS.

Yes, there really is a program that turns ZOO archives into self-
extracting executables. The program is called "sez". The problem is
that lots of people don't trust executables anymore; a self-extracting
executable archive can be a vehicle for a tidily packaged trojan-horse
program.

The most recent version of ZOO that I've seen is v2.01.
