[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Adaptec RLL controller in AT?

kahn@xanth.cs.odu.edu (Gary I Kahn) (01/07/89)

Has anyone successfully moved an Adaptec ACB-2072 RLL controller to
an AT clone? The manual that comes with the card doesn't mention AT's at
all, just XT's. The manual also leaves out an address for the company,
so I can't write to Adaptec and ask them. I can't try it, because I don't
have the AT clone yet. I'm trying to calculate my total expenses in an
upgrade. Thanks in advance.

It should be possible to use in an AT class machine, but (a) chances
are that it won't boot, and (b) it will be slower than a real AT
controller due to the 8-bit bus interface.
