I have a Packard Bell AT clone w/Phoenix ROM BIOS v3.07 and a GENOA Super Hi-res EGA board. When the system is powered on, it give one long and two short beeps before it prints the GENOA EGA bios message (v4.11) and the Phoenix ROM BIOS message. If I set the card into CGA mode (or a program does) and the system is rebooted via CTRL-ALT-DEL, there are no beeps and the system boots normally. Is it possible that the ROM BIOS needs to be upgraded (I've seen v3.10 on some other AT clones) to understand the Hi-res EGA card? Thanks, Mike Iglesias University of California, Irvine
