My church group has a Leading Edge Model D, with Phoenix BIOS version 2.13. This system was bought in 1986 and came with Leading Edge's MS-DOS 3.1. The only incompatibility I am aware of between the LE Model D and a "true blue" IBM PC is that the Leading Edge has an on-board clock/ calendar (and, of course, no ROM BASIC). The MS-DOS 3.1 that came with the system has a CLKDVR.SYS driver for clock initialization. My question is: Will the generic "Packaged Product" MS-DOS 3.3 (the version made by Microsoft and not modified by any OEM) work properly on a Leading Edge Model D? Or are there other weirdnesses in this machine (aside from the clock/calendar -- and I assume I can just hang onto the CLKDVR.SYS from the DOS 3.1) which require a version of 3.3 that has been specially modified in some way by Leading Edge? -- Rich Wales // UCLA Computer Science Department // +1 (213) 825-5683 3531 Boelter Hall // Los Angeles, California 90024-1596 // USA wales@CS.UCLA.EDU ...!(uunet,ucbvax,rutgers)!cs.ucla.edu!wales "Now, if you do see me again today, I want you to report it to me immediately."
