Recently I offered to pass along some complaints about Telix to Colin
Sampaleanu, Telix's author.

Tom,
I don't have access to a Usenet system. I can however reply to the
two messages you quoted...
To Mr. Stockwell: Believe it or not, Telix does the background color
properly in the VT100. Version 3.00 of Telix did things the way you
expect it, but that's not the way a real VT does it. On a real VT, when
a new line of text scrolls in for example, the current background color
is only applied to the portion of the line where there is text. Telix
3.00 and ProComm apply the current background on the whole line. Under
the EDT and EVE editors in VMS, this causes problems when doing certain
operations, such as highlighting a block...
To John Sin: When Telix receives an underline escape sequence, it
uses the blue color, since the blue color is what shows up as underline
on a mono system. Unfortunately, I never considered that on a systems
with a color card and a black and white composite monitor, blue would
show up very faint (being very near to black). In the next release, you
should be able to specify another underline color. As far as saving
Space or Mark parity as a default in the Config file, this is a bug. On
reading the file, Telix accidentally blocks out Space and Mark as valid.
This has been fixed for the next release (a fixed version is also
available on request from me).
