[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Solving Nonlinear EQU's with PCMATLAB ?

hannu@tut.FI (Hannu Koivisto) (01/19/89)

I have used PC-MATLAB for data analysis etc. for a long time, but I have
not noticed before, that it lacks a nonlinear equation solver.

It would be rather straightforward to write a M- or MEX-file for this
for example on the basis of Numerical Recipes.
But it's so commonly needed, that I decided to make a query before I start
to write one. So:

Do you know, if there exists (a public domain or comm.) M- or MEX-function,
which finds one or more N-dimensional solution vectors x such that

	F(x) = 0

Where F is the N-dimensional vector-valued function whose components are
the individual equations to be satisfied simultaneously.

Thanks in advance
