Recently there was a complaint about the behavior of Telix's SALT language, particularly regarding the fgets() function. I passed it along to Colin Sampaleanu, and here is his reply: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 01-21-89 (01:56) Number: 223 VMC's Activity BBS To: TOM BETZ Refer#: NONE From: COLIN SAMPALEANU Read: NO Subj: MORE USENET TRAFFIC Conf: (61) telix ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The SALT fgets function is just a call to the C fgets function. Normally, Ctrl-Z's would be eliminated by this. I do however open the file in binary mode, and it would appear that my C compiler does _not_ check for Ctrl-Z when a file is opened in binary mode, even for a function like fgets, which is usually used to get ASCII text. Therefore I'll have to add code for the next release to check for it... Colin ---------- Hope this helps. For them as is interested, Colin uses Zortech's C compiler, minus the C++ extensions. - "One of these days the Hoover factory | Tom Betz EAA#48267 is gonna be all the rage in those | ZCNY, Yonkers, NY 10701-2509 fashionable pictures." - Elvis |------------------------------ UUCP:tbetz@spies or ...philabs!spies!tbetz | "Empty, try another." - Joni
