[net.general] where to live?

demillo@uwmacc.UUCP (Rob DeMillo) (08/26/85)

Hi there.

Next summer, my SO and I will be leaving the midwest in
search of bolder, more adventurous times. At any rate,
we are interested in either the NorthEast US (Boston area) or
the NorthWest US (Either Portland or Seattle area). I have
already consumed the Rent analysis from net.singles last year,
but what I am interested in are some individual responses from
people who have either lived, or are living, in either of
these areas.

Things I'm interested in knowing:
      - Availablity of jobs for computer-types
      - University locatations
      - weather
      - appeal
      - cultural setting
      - natural setting
      - locations of national/state parks
      - cost of living
      - overall opinion

Answers to any of these questions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Please e-mail your reponses...I'll collect them, and if anyone
else is interested, please let me know, and I'll "zip" you off
a copy.

Many thanks in advance...

p.s. Also, from anyone living on either coast of Canada, a
similar response would be appreciated...just out of
     curiousity.
