     Help !!!

PC-Tools seems to have blown away my boot block and FAT table on a Segate
ST-251 HD with an NCL Controller card in a PC-Craft 20 Mhz 286. An employee
was formatting a Floppy drive with PC-Tools Deluxe V4.11 running on MS-DOS
3.3, when the machine seemed to hang up. He noticed that both the HD and
floppy lights were on, but seemingly no activity. Then he shut the system down
After that he couldn't access the HD -- Boot failure. If I boot from a floppy
the C: isn't recognized. I had 2 partitions--C: with maximum DOS partition of
abount 3.3 Meg, and D: with the balance of the 40 Meg. My data is current on
both partitons. I ran fdisk to see if there were any partitions, and it did'nt
recognize any at all. (I also switched controller cards - everyhing was the
same. After running fdisk and setting up the first partition, I could at least
log on to C:. After running Norton Utilities, I can see data on the data
sectors in C:, but nothing in the FAT or Boot Block. I hav't run fdisk to set
up d: yet. Any Ideas ???

Thanks in advance for any help that you may have -- I'll Summarize & post
any results. Dennis Hoshield at bigbox.
