[comp.sys.ibm.pc] CMI followup info; request

kris@beep.UUCP (Port'naybl) (02/06/89)

[If cheetahs obeyed the rules of the game, they would be called playahs.]

     Remember me? I'm the person who got the CMI Model No. 5410-C fixed-
disk drive. Well, I finally opened up my XT, and found out that the disk
controller is "WD1002-27X". Anyone out there know off-hand if this will
run the 5410-C drive?

     Please respond by mail; site "beep"'s access to this newsgroup
seems to be send-only.

						Thanx,

-> 						Thanx,

     I called Western Digital today(Monday) and they told me that the
WD1002-27X controller will only handle RLL drives; they also told me
that the CMI 5410-C drive will NOT handle RLL. Out of curiosity,
does anyone make a RLL&MFM disk controller?

     Oh well, maybe "beep" wasn't really ready for the extra
storage after all...   B-)
