[comp.sys.ibm.pc] MSDOS expands environment space on the fly

Yes I know this topic is just about talked out but in creating
some progams to modify the environment space I came across an
interesting feature, on at least MSDOS 3.1 anyways on a Zenith 151.
You can never exhaust the environment space from the command line.
DOS just allocates additional paragraphs as needed. So if you just
need a little more space without modifying the CONFIG.SYS file,
enter a long symbol and then delete it ie:
set a=aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
set a=
fun huu.

This has been possible since msdos v2.0 at least. There is a
limit, however, and it is documented: 32K.
