Yes I know this topic is just about talked out but in creating some progams to modify the environment space I came across an interesting feature, on at least MSDOS 3.1 anyways on a Zenith 151. You can never exhaust the environment space from the command line. DOS just allocates additional paragraphs as needed. So if you just need a little more space without modifying the CONFIG.SYS file, enter a long symbol and then delete it ie: set a=aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa set a= fun huu. mikep@hydra.unm.edu mikep@unmb.unm.bitnet or mikep@unmb
