A friend of mine is using PC-Tools 5.0, and is having problems with the background down loading facility. Using procomm Plus, all of our MADO and MICOM systems dial out correctly, and using PC-Tools to dial out and download works fine. That is, until I try the back ground option with Alt-B. On the Micom line, if I press Alt-B, the system hangs up and the carrier is lost. On the MADO computer, setting up PC-tools with the exact same batch file, the Alt-B option does not even appear on the menu option list. So, my question is, has anyone been able to make the back ground download work? Under what conditions has it worked? Did you have to do anything special to make it work? My friend is running an IBM PS/2 Mod 60 with 6 Megs, HD, 3Com connection, MICOM Switch facility by wall plate to the switching closet. Any help would be appreciated.
