[comp.sys.ibm.pc] X.25 for DOS PC

crom@cuuxb.ATT.COM (Auntie Dion) (02/11/89)

Does anyone know if an X.25 development package is available for DOS PCs?
We want to set up a link between remote DOS PCs and a local 3b2 (unix)
over dialup lines. What we need is something like X.25 with the p-cmd
library, but I don't know if anything like that exists for DOS.

What we're trying to do is use the remote PCs as interactive displays for an
application that runs on the 3B2s. Sort of a poor man's X Windows (a very
poor man). So we need reliable end to end communications between the DOS
process and the UNIX process over the dialup lines. Any suggestions?
X.25 seems appropriate if it exists for the PC and has a good development
library. Thanks for any information you can give. (If, for any reason, this
seems like a bad idea please don't hold back. We'd like to know soon whether it
is feasible.)
