I have a Data Desk keyboard that I bought a couple of years ago. The problem I have is that sometimes it seems to get stuck in Typematic mode. It just goes on sending the same character. I get the impression this may be occurring more with programs that have their own keyboard driver than with ones which use the BIOS or DOS. In any case, it never happened with my horrible old IBM keyboard. It even happens if you hit another key! It accepts that key, then goes back to sending the old one again. I don't know much about the IBM keyboard (my good old Kaypro just sends plain ASCII over a plain serial line, thank you very much, and doesn't give me this grief), but I gather it could be sending a down-transition without ever sending the up-transition (or something). The problem seems to be occurring mostly in the Ancient Art of War--wretched cursor just starts moving and keeps on moving. Anybody know anything about this? Anybody know what to do about it? -- Ernest W. Adams silvlis!ewa I don't speak for Silvar-Lisco, and they don't speak for me. We're even.
