Can someone explain the difference (if any) between a Microsoft InPort mouse and A PS/2-compatible mouse? I am assuming there is a difference and that I would not be able to plug my InPort mouse (which fits into a card for the PC bus) into a PS/2-type mouse port. Is there some kind of adapter to allow the use of an InPort mouse on a PS/2 type port? Signed, Curious in Champaign

I have a Microsoft PS/2 mouse, the old kind, not the new super zoomy ergonomic kind. It is an InPort mouse with a little adapter box with an InPort socket and a cord with a PS/2 mouse plug. It works fine. I don't know if they sell the adapter box with the new mouse, but you could always call Microsoft and ask. -- John R.
