[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Need good reference for segment:offset addressing in 80x86

jrv@siemens.UUCP (James R Vallino) (02/15/89)

Someone I know is just beginning to do some lower level programming on a PC. I
am looking for references which describe the segment:offset in the 80x86 family
processors. I learned this so long ago I can't remember the reference I used
or if I picked it up on the fly.

Thanks for any information.--

Try this:

	INTEL iAPX 86/88, 186/188 User's Manual, Programmer's reference
	order Number: 210911-001

You can get this through any reputable electronics supply house which
handles INTEL chips. Since I work for a firm which uses chips, we
get all these sort of manuals for free. There may be other books
which give more examples or verbage, but if you want the ABSOLUTE
last word in accurate information, this is it.
