Maybe it's easy to please me but I also like a lot of the Rolling Stones and the Who stuff and (am embarrased to admit it) even like a song by Loverboy ("The Kid is Hot Tonight" -- I plead mitigating circumstances: I got to like it before the Radio Stations did, and it isn't on either of their past two albums.) On the other hand, I do agree about Journey. Toss in Styx and REO as well. I must agree with what (the people who are in the right) have said about Rush and "Grace Under Pressure," i.e. it is a good group and a *very* good album. I think Rush has improved immeasurably from their Rush/Fly By Night/Caress of Steel days. And while any album dedicated to "the genius of Ayn Rand" can't be all bad, I must admit that Geddy Lee does kind of irritate the fine hair cells deep in the ear when he screeches the lyrics to "2112." In the past several albums, starting with "Permanent Waves" and improving with each album, Geddy Lee's Banshee Coefficient has decreased to the point of complete listenability. As for Neil Peart: the drumming is great, as are the lyrics. What would be nice would be a complete set for the faithful, in which all of the old stuff is re-recorded, sans screech. Love that "Bytor and the Snow-Dog". -- You knew you should have S. Luke Jones hit the 'n' key ...ucbvax!unmvax!nmtvax!cairo
