I have a PC AT clone which came with a 60 MByte Seagate ST277R disk. I have recently been given a used Seagate 40 MBytes ST251 drive and would like to add it as a second drive in this machine. Since the latter is not an RLL drive it is my understanding it can't be run on the same controller as the original drive. The obvious solution seems to be to add a second disk controller into the machine, but one which can be configured to understand that it is a second controller running the second hard disk in the machine. As I know of some PC bulletin boards that run multiple hard disks (> 2) this would seem to be possible, but somehow this is beyond the limits of knowledge of the folks in the PC stores around here. Can anyone provide some assistance? Thanks in advance. Please mail to me directly rather than posting to the news group. If there is sufficient interest I will compile repsonses into a summary and post it.
