I need to get a monochrome monitor hooked up to my computer so that I can
handle some software development for computers which will only have a
monochrome monitor attached to them (current computer has EGA).
I have a monochrome board to stick in the ALR and I have scrounged up a
monochrome monitor but herein lies the difficulty. The monitor has an 8 pin
DIN socket on the back but the original cable seems to have disappeared. I
can make a cable but I need to know the proper connections from the standard
9 pin Sub-D connector to an 8 pin DIN type connector. I don't know if such
a standard even exists, if it is any help my sources seem to think that this
monitor originally came with a Columbia(?) computer which I believe is now
extinct.
If anyone has the pinouts for a nine pin monochrome connection I would
appreciate that information as well since if no information turns up I can
always open the monitor and trace the connector connections to the video
drivers in the monitor. Either E-mail or responses to the net are
acceptable, I will summarize whatever E-mail I receive as well. Thanks in
advance for any information the net is willing to extend to me.
As always,
G.W. Wettstein
