Centronix made a laser printer a year or two ago which used the Sharp engine. It uses a belt, rather than a drum, and the cost per page is supposed to be lower than the Canon units. Now, Centronix has been bought out and some 4000 of the units were dumped, some with the fulll 2 meg of RAM, some without. I have a lead on one of the last ones with 2 meg (HP LJ+, Diablo 630 emulation) for $1195. I've looked at past PC Mag's laser reviews and cannot find a write-up on the Sharp engine. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with this printer? Thanks in advance... Bill Beamon/GE Daytona Beach 904-239-2605 ...............Usual Disclaimers...........

I have a friend who owns one of the Centronix laser printers. They have recently been reasonably widely available in the UK, I believe that the company which bought Centronix has decided to sell the printer. The print looks nice (OK, this is objective, it looks sharp), and I don't think he has had any cause for concern. I know that he has had a problem getting hold of differing fonts for it....the standard fonts are not the same as the ones in the LJ(?) Cathy. ...All standard disclaimers apply....
