It has been noted that DV 2.24 will trash a directory and several people have decided to go back to V 2.22. Well this afternoon it erased my root directory on my second hard disk. So I'm going back to 2.01. One other serious problem that 2.22 has is it trashes packets on our Netbios LAN. About 1 1K packed in about 500 uploaded to the server get trashed completely. This never happened almost a year of running V 2.01. The LAN is Netbios on TCP/IP from Excelan but I'm pretty sure Excelan isn't the problem. All this occured with DESQview 386 (DV 2.22 and QEMM 4.23). Ok there are 2 good reasons to take a giant step backward in capability and 3 giant steps forward in reliability.
