[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Convert Mac PICT to IBM PCX

boomer@eleazar.dartmouth.edu (Rich Akerboom) (02/28/89)

I am looking for a utility for either the Mac or the IBM PC that can
convert a file in PICT or TIFF format on the Mac to PCX format on the
IBM PC (If I am not mistaken, PCX is the format used by PC paintbrush).

If I can find a file convertion program, I can move either the PICT/TIFF file
to the IBM PC first, or move the PCX file from the Mac to the PC afterwards.
These transfers do not present a problem.

I am most interested in some kind of public domain or shareware program, but
pointers to commercial products are also appreciated. Thanks in advance for
your assistance. Please respond to me directly (and to the net if you wish,
of course) as I do not follow some of these groups. If enough people express
interest, I will post the results.

Thanks again,

There is a program produced by PC Quick-Art that handles conversion
from and to many different formats including PCX and Mac formats.
Their number is 1-800-523-1796. I have used their package to take files
between Mac Paint and PC Paintbrush. I have then pulled these pictures
into Wordperfect as graphics images to be printed as figures in a
document.
