Several people have posted articles noting that Telix's VT102 emulation doesn't work right with vi. This is because Telix (no matter what terminal emulation you choose) defaults to a destructive backspace. Whenever the remote asks Telix to move one character to the left, it automatically erases that character, too. The solution is to go to the Terminal Options menu (Alt-O T), and select the "Destructive Backspace" option (I think it's option H, but I'm not sure...). Then, change it to "No". Your problems will be cured! Note: You can also change this option with the undocumented variable, _dest_bs . Setting it to "1" enables destructive backspace, and setting it to "0" disables destructive backspace. -- Marc Unangst UUCP : mju@mudos.ann-arbor.mi.us UUCP bang : ...!uunet!sharkey!mudos!mju UUCP bang alt.: ...!{ames, rutgers}!mailrus!clip!mudos!mju Internet : mju@mudos.ann-arbor.mi.us
