I need to display a directory listing from within a Fortran program, and the best way to do this seems to be via an assembler routine, possibly one which invokes COMMAND.COM. All I need to do is pass the routine an extension and have a display of all files in the current directory with that extension -- format is not too critical (a GEM style file selector would be super, but not essential). The equivalent DOS command would be DIR *.EXT, or DIR *.%EXT% in batch language. I've heard of undocumented functions that do this, but don't now them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Bill Silvert, Habitat Ecology Division.
