I have telephoned PC Tech Journal's subscription service in Colorado (303-447-9330). I was told to hang loose until I receive Ziff-Davis' offer in the mail, an offer whereby my outstanding subscription to PC Tech Journal can be replaced with one of some list of equivalent items. The offer should be coming shortly. The person doing the talking assured me that getting my money back was likely to be one of the options. If it wasn't, the subscription service would see to it that they'd look into sending me my money anyway. You can bet I would call them!! I already receive PC Magazine and definitely don't want PC Computing! (I'll believe the refund when I see it.) From the way the fellow talked, it seems that the subscription service is a separate company from Ziff-Davis. Oh yes, I just got my March 1989 edition of PC Tech Journal, with an ad touting the "generous" offer of a year's renewal 15 bucks cheaper than past renewal rates. Yup, snake oil. Get those bucks from the unsuspecting.
