[comp.sys.ibm.pc] IBM AT Clone Configuration

I'd appreciate any advice anyone can give me on configuring
my system so my hard drives can begin with C:. My peripherals
include:

* 360K 5 1/4" drive

* 720K 3 1/2" drive

* Colorado Memory Tape Backup (must be physically assigned as drive B:)

All 3 of the above run off of a Jameco 4-drive floppy controller.

* 130 Mb hard drive divided into 5 partitions

I don't particularly care what drive letters are assigned to my floppies,
but I need my hard drive to be C: through G:. Right now I'm using a
whole bunch of SUBST statements, but I don't like this approach, as
it is incompatible with some software.

I guess my basic question is: How do I assign my hard drive to be
C: through G: while the 3 peripherals attached to the floppy controller
as either split up (A, B, and H) or assigned consecutively after
G (H, I, J)?
