'286/386 replacement motherboards: I currently have a Turbo XT clone with a V20 chip in it that I'd like to wring some more speed out of. I'm considering upgading the motherboard to a '286 or a '386 replacement board and was wondering what kind of recommendations you could give me. I'm mainly interested in either 1 or 2 megs of memory and as much speed improvement as I can get. The main use this new board will be seeing is to run DESQview so I can mutli-task my BBS and still have use of the computer. Assuming I do decide to upgrade to another motherboard do you think there would be a market for my used V20 motherboard? Would it be worth my while to try and sell it, and what kind of price do you expect I'd get? It's got 1024K of ram onboard with the 384K above the 640K mark currently being used as a RAMdisk. Since this would seem to be a topic a number of other netters would be interested in responses should probably be to this newsgroup, but email if you like. Also of interest is whether I can run Xenix (or some other Unix work-alike) on the board in question as I might be interested in moving away from MS-DOS in the future. -- ============================================================================= From Paul Gauthier logged in at Cerebral Cortex BBS System (902)462-7245 8N1 24h/7d {uunet, utai, watmath}!dalcs!iisat!brains!paul_gauthier =============================================================================
