I am interested in reviving the MKS mailing list. I've recently been seeing a lot of postings from folks who are using various MKS products (Toolkit, vi, awk, RCS, others), and I expect these types of postings will increase as more "converted" PC users get access to the net. The MKS mailing list has been dormant for over a year now, and this seems like a good time to try and get it going again. I contacted the original moderator, Bruce Jones (bjones%weber@ucsd.edu), and he has indicated that he is no longer interested in MKS stuff due to his having acquired an AT&T UNIX-PC. I am willing to take the reins if there is enough interest from others. One of the problems we had with the original mailing list was that very few people ever submitted anything. I would like to try and encourage people to share their tips, utilities, and other info with other MKS users, with the idea that submissions could be packaged into a digest form. Perhaps we can get somebody involved at MKS as well (Gerry Wheeler, maybe?). MKS users seem to be a small, loyal group, and I think our interests can be better served (and overall net bandwidth reduced) by having things addressed through the mailing list.
