[comp.sys.ibm.pc] 1.44MB drive questions

Instead of drilling a hole in the 720 k disk to convert it to a 1.44 meg
disk, poke a hole with a soldiering iron. The ad for the $25 `tool' talks
about plastic chips ruining the disk, and i believe it. The soldiering
iron makes a stink, but doesn't leave any chips floating around the disk.
After poking the hole (it doesn't need to be very deep), i cut off the ridge
around the hole with a chisel.
