I received many replies to my recent posting asking for a Tektronix 4107
emulator program for PCs. Many of them were folks just wanting a copy
of any pointers I got. So, here's a summary.
Several people mentioned EMU-TEK by FTG Data Systems. Their address is:
10801 Dale St., Suite M-2,
P.O.Box 615
Stanton, CA 90680
(714) 995-3900 or (800) 962-3900.
There are apparently several different EMU-TEK products, emulating
several different Tektronix terminals. Prices range from $300-$500.
A lot of folks raved about TGRAF-07 by Grafpoint, Inc. Their address:
1485 Saratoga Avenue
San Jose, Ca. 95129-4934
(408)-446-1919
Lots of nifty features, everything you could ask for in an emulator.
Nobody had a bad word about this one except for price -- about $850.
A couple people mentioned that Kermit has some limited Tek emulation. A
couple of pointers without much info were to something called (or by?)
Coefficient, and a product AT&T used to carry called Tango.
What did I end up with? Well, it turns out that someone just a few
offices away from me had an older copy of TGRAF-07 for the IBM PC. I
called Grafpoint, and they are going to send me an update to the latest
version (2.4, I believe) and a device driver for my AT&T DEB card.
Thanks, one and all!
