Hi group,
I recently inhereted a Siemens 300 megabyte ESDI disk drive from
another department. I attempted to install it in my IBM model 80
with IBM (A.K.A Adaptec) ESDI controller card and Priam 330 meg
drive as unit 0. I have all the requisite calbing, etc. to connect
the the Siemens as unit 1.
My problem is that I don't have any information on how to perform a
low level format for the Siemens disk. The LFORMAT program on the
IBM setup disk won't touch it, nor will the formatting program that
came with the Priam disk.
Do I need to set up some sort of .ADF file on the IBM setup disk?
Is there some sort of utility like Speedstore that'll work on the
model 80? For the moment, this drive makes a pretty good high tech
doorstop.
