[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Software timing techniques wanted

dbuerger@cup.portal.com (David J Buerger) (03/26/89)

I would like to hear some ideas on how to time software execution
times via software. In particular, what are some ways you would time:
how long it takes to load an application software program; how long it
takes to load a data file within an application; how long it takes to
save a data file to disk from within an application. It
is important that this can be done automatically, and that results
be dumped to an ascii text file. Tools like Norton's Time Mark
program are a start, but only for DOS command line execution and
completion. It would be especially valuable if your technique is
transportable between any application.

Please respond directly to dbuerger@cup.portal.com. Thanks!
