I have a need to speed up screen writes for an EGA based video system in a 10Mhz 0 wait state 286 based system. It is just taking to long to move as much video as I have to. (An EGA display is required by the software.) There are a couple of options that come to mind as possible solutions. The first would be to copy the EGA Rom bios to Ram where it might execute faster. The second idea would be to switch to a EGA card with a 16 bit wide data bus to the mother board. Has anyone tried either of these idea before? How about 16 bit wide EGA cards? Do these really yield any improvement? Can anyone reccomend a vendor for 16 bit wide EGA cards? Thanks in advance for any help. ----------------------------------- Cary Mednick cmm@chinet.chi.il.us -----------------------------------
