Hi, The alpha version of Windows 2.0 which I saw when I visited a developer who was working with it on his VGA screen had about 30 lines of file listing in the DOS Executive window. In other words, I was able to see more on a standard VGA (with smaller fonts). However, what I see now with Windows/286 v2.1 on PS/2 50 VGA screen is like the version 1.0* in terms of how much it can display. I scrutinized the manual rather thoroughly only to find no word on how to display more. Strangley, you can see a picture showing more lines in a book explaining Windows v2.0, published by Microsoft. But on the manual of v2.1, the picure shows just around 25 lines again. I think you once wished to see more lines as on a MacII screen. Does anyone know the story about this? Or know how to get more than 25 lines in a maximized DOS Executive window? Hugh

When you install Windows tell it to use the CGA fonts when it asks you which fonts to use. -- Joel Upchurch/Concurrent Computer Corp/2486 Sand Lake Rd/Orlando, FL 32809 joel@peora.ccur.com {uiucuxc,hoptoad,petsd,ucf-cs}!peora!joel Telephone: (407) 850-1040 Fax: (407) 857-0713
