I am posting this for a friend: I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has used an IBM PC/AT to DEC Q-22 bus adapter from BIT 3 Corporation. We have been trying to con- nect an IBM PC/AT to a DEC PDP-11/23 or /73. In particular, we have chosen to use the 128k bytes of dual-port RAM, which comes as an option on the adapter, as the only memory on the QBus. The problem comes when we try to run DEC's RT-11 operating system. The system gives the appearance of booting normally, however KMON does not recognize any commands that are entered. BIT 3 Corporation says that they test the hardware in both the PDP-11 and the VAX machines, but they do not use the RT-11 operating system. On the surface, they do not see any problem with useing the dual-port RAM as the only memory on the QBus, but they can offer nothing beyond that. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. -- Dean W. Anneser Pratt & Whitney Aircraft "Whenever possible, Sr. Sys.
