Hi, I recently purchased a used CompuAdd 286/12 PC that came with a copy of AutoCAD. However, I have had a problem running it. Everytime I try to run autocad I keep getting the message "Cant find overlay file acad.ovl please enter path for the file". The overlay file is in the same directory , but for some reason its not being recognized. I tried putting it on floppy, but no good. I know the files are good since they worked on my PC at work and I have had no problems with other software compatibility. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Since I have a VGA card and monitor, do I need a special driver? Also Could someone please post or email the number for Autodesk or their BBS if they have one.. It wasnt in the sparse documentation that came with it, one of the perils of buying used software I guess. Thanks, SJK

I don't have the number off hand, but it is in Marin, the company name is Autodesk Inc. The area code is (415). As for the OVL files not being found, you might try reconfiguring Autocad by removing/renaming the ACAD.cfg file. You don't mention which version your using, but you might also try re copying the files from your PC to see if there might have been a bad or corrupted file on what ever disk you used to copy onto the AT. If the version is later than 2.62, it will need a math coprocessor. Do you have one?
