If I am correct in assuming that net.music.classical has been formed, the floodgates have now been opened for requests of net.music.whatever.pleases.your.fancy! Why the big to do. I thought it was kind of nice having all music in the same group. I can see it now.... net.music.country .... net.music.soul .... net.music.rock It will begin to look like the Grammy Awards Just a perspective......................... References: pthya.121 Two people have already made this observation. Could we bury this ( net.music.*.* discussion ) for awhile until some statistics can be compiled on how much different traffic there is in it ? I personally wouldn't mind net.music.folk ( net.wobegon in general ) but the 1.0E-03% of the population who listens to 60's folk doesn't justify another newsgroup. Perhaps an earlier suggestion ( justification along the lines of the way the Federal Cookie Company divided up the FM band -- lower 1/5th aesthestic, upper 4/5ths commercial ) is how we should divide up net.music for the time being. NO FLAMES FOR CALLING net.music NONAESTHETIC- I think most people are mature enough to recognise that the FM Band is in fact divided up across some pretty well defined line. (That is, you haven't heard an hour of Quiet Riot on your local NPR/APR affiliate, have you ? ) dya
