Tod, Regarding: > About the beginning of the year, I picked up a copy of Microsoft >Windows/286 for my PC. Included in the package was an offer for one >free software package from Microsoft. I figured, what the heck, free >software is free software, so I sent it in to get Flight Simulator. > Well, over three months have passed, and nothing from Microsoft. >Has anyone out there actually received any of this free software? >Should I be more patient (probably)? Alternatively, can someone >from Microsoft give me a number to call for more info? The copies >of the stuff I sent in don't have a phone number, except the tech >support line. Don't be more patient. I bought a Microsoft product in the same time frame. I also choose Flight Simulator and received it in about 2 weeks. (It's the newest version - 3.0 -) I'm at work so I don't have any phone numbers handy, but a number should be somewhere in your stuff. After sending in the reqistration card(s), I have received letters from Microsoft saying "Thank You, etc". Some phone numbers are also on these letters. BTW I have been very impressed with Microsoft Customer Support. The product I purchased was Quick C version 1.something. About a month after the purchase they released version 2.0. I called to request a upgrade order form. After I mailed back the order form, they sent the upgrade via Federal Express. I had it in my hands 5 days after I mailed the order form.
