Re the program MAXI Disk v2.01: =============================== .. It has come to our attention that someone has been uploading a copy of one of our commercial products to a number of BBS systems. If you see the file MAXI201.ZIP, or similar, on your system (or on any system that you may be visiting) please remove it at once and inform all downloaders of its commercial nature. .. MAXI Disk is a menu driven floppy disk formatting utility which provides some options for increasing the amount of user space on a floppy disk by up to 15 to 20 %. (e.g. 360 k disks can be formatted to 420k bytes). The program has been seen on a number of BBS systems in the US and Canada ZIPped with a copy of the summary docs for a shareware program called MAXI Form v1.5, which you MAY keep on your system. If the ZIP or ARC file is significantly less than about 40k bytes, then it is the commercial version of the program WHICH MUST BE REMOVED FROM YOUR BBS SYSTEM. .. The commercial version, MAXI Disk, retails for $19.95 (US) or $22.95 (CDN) direct from Herne Data Systems Ltd., PO Box 714, Station C, Toronto, Ontario M6J 3S1 CANADA. phone (416) 535-9335 .. The latest version of the shareware program MAXI Form is 1.54a. It is a 41k .EXE file, while MAXI Disk (current version 2.03) is a 9k .COM file. Other main differences are that the shareware version is command line driven, while the commercial version is menu driven. The commercial version also supports the formatting of standard DOS disks, while the shareware version does not. .. It should also be noted that version 2.01 of MAXI Disk was an early release that had some bugs in it which made it unreliable on many systems. ..
