[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Help needed with booting from hard disk

mlin@hawk.ulowell.edu (Mou-chuan Lin) (04/30/89)

Hi,
I installed OS2 on a PC AT. Later on, I didn't feel that I need OS2
for my machine. So, I manually deleted the OS2 stuff (os2kern., process.,
*.ddl, etc...) only to find out that OS2 didn't go away. Now, everytime
I reboot the machine, it complains about OS2LDR not found and asks for
the system disk (OS2 installation disk, I think). It 's possible to
boot from a diskette formatted with /S, but I just want to have my
beloved DOS back without having to remember to put the disk in everytime.
I tried to use REPLACE to replace the hidden files; it didn't work.
How can I boot from the hard disk again? Please send any suggestions/answers
by e-mail.
Thanks in advance.
Lin
