[comp.sys.ibm.pc] MKS Toolkit and Windows/286

kaotai@cpsvax.cps.msu.edu (Kao Tai Yung) (05/05/89)

I just bought MKS Toolkit ver. 2.3 several days ago. So far,
I am very satisfied with this handy product. I installed
sh.exe as the shell via config.sys and found that 'most' of
my DOS applications can run in the new environment without
troubles.

However, this is not the case for Windows/286. Every time,
if I invoked win.com in any directory other than the
directory in which win.com and other windows files reside,
there appeared a dialog box with message "MS-DOS cannot run"
as well as an 'OK' field. After I clicked on the 'OK' for
exactly three times, the Executive Window appeared and every
thing seemed just find, except that the win.ini was
bypassed.

Well, of course, I didn't forget to assign the necessary
directory to PATH variable.

Any idea? Thanks in advance.
