Sorry if this is the wrong newsgroup, but can someone tell me where I can get protocol documentation for Kermit, Xmodem, and other popular communications programs? Any information will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Milan mms00786@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu

In June 1984 Byte magazine part one of "KERMIT: A file-transfer protocol for universities" is printed pages 255-278. Part 2 is in July 1984 pages 143+. This documentation was good enough for me to be able to implement a working version of the kermit protocol. The protocol descriptions for X/Y/Zmodem are in directory pd3:<misc.protocols> on Simtel20. The Kermit protocol description is available from watsun.cc.columbia.edu (Kermit's home). -- Keith Petersen Maintainer of Simtel20's CP/M, MSDOS, and MISC archives Internet: w8sdz@wsmr-simtel20.army.mil [26.2.0.74] Uucp: {ames,decwrl,harvard,rutgers,ucbvax,uunet}!wsmr-simtel20.army.mil!w8sdz
