A full conference programme is planned with some twenty presentations from our invited speakers and from authors of accepted papers. These will be further sup- plemented by on-site demonstrations of current systems to provide some practical assessment of the presented work. TOPICS The papers will address topics relevant to environments that support the production of large-scale software systems. Of particular interest are: Establishing user requirements for IPSEs Advanced workstation interfaces for support environments Methodology support tools The integration and support of formal methods Support for software reuse Knowledge-based support environments and tools INVITED SPEAKERS Ian Campbell (Syseca Logiciel), France Roy H. Campbell (University of Illinois), U.S.A Vic Stenning (Imperial Software Technology), U.K. Leon Stucki (Futuretech), U.S.A CONFERENCE FEE The fee is 165 pounds sterling. TRAVEL/ACCOMMODATION Lancaster University is readily accessible by road, rail and by air. The University is situated close to the M6 motorway between Preston and Lancaster, and lies 2 miles north of Junction 33. The city of Lancaster is served by the main west coast London to Glasgow rail line, with regular services. Two airports (Manchester and Liverpool) are within easy reach of the University and have rail and coach connec- tions to the City. Delegates will be expected to make their own travel arrangements. A conference handbook will be sent out to each delegate, together with a conference programme, in which travel choices are outlined in some detail. The conference is fully residential. Accommodation and all meals will be provided on the University campus; this cost is included in the conference fee. The accommodation is reserved for delegates from the afternoon of Monday, 1st April through to the morning of Friday, 4th April. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS It has been provisionally agreed that the conference proceedings will be published by Peter Perigrinus Ltd as a book entitled "Software Engineering Environments" which is to be edited by Ian Sommerville, University of Strathclyde.
