My friend's harddisk is up and running. Thanks for all the suggestions. I discovered that I was confusing the disk capacity with the harddisk type. After I figured that out, it wasn't hard to fix. Jim [I lost you're address] I didn't need the Harddisk diagnostics program you mailed me. Thanks anyway. ----- A Sun
