I have an ASCII file that contains a few control characters. I can read it into WP5.0 as ASCII text, but how do I search for these characters? In vi I can use a <cntrl>v or a backslash to quote a character. What is the equivalent in WP? Please mail your responses as I don't get this feed reliably. I will post a summary to the net. -- Sam Saal ..!attunix!saal Vayiphtach HaShem et Peah HaAtone

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the following request: In article <5250@sfsup.UUCP>, saal@sfsup.UUCP (+Saal S.) writes: > I have an ASCII file that contains a few control characters. > I can read it into WP5.0 as ASCII text, but how do I search > for these characters? They were split into two groups: Some said use ctrl-v and some said use ALT<num> where <num> is the ascii numeric value of the control code I want. I've tried the <ctrl>-v approach and it works perfectly. What threw me was the fact that after hitting hte ctrl-v you get a new prompt ("Key: "). Once I got the help from the net, I figured out that this prompt was prompting me to do what I really _did_ want to do. Thanks for all your help. -- Sam Saal ..!attunix!saal Vayiphtach HaShem et Peah HaAtone
