[Sorry if this is posted multiple times - News server problems.] Greetings! I would be interested in recomendations, information, personal experiences, warnings, things to look for, and generally any information on tape backup system for an XT (clone) for (preferably) under $500. My configuration is: AT&T 6300, 640K, Monochrome, SOTA 286i accellerator and V30 8086 replacement (yes, my 4 MHz clone *flys*), other insundry cards (e.g. internal modem, bus mouse), Seagate ST225 20MB, Western Digital FileCard 30. Having 50 MB across 2 harddisks makes floppy backup difficult, if not cumbersome and time consuming. Besides, I don't have that many floppies... :-) Misc. other requirements: Tape backup must be *EXTERNAL*, must come with software to allow unattended backups (script capability would be nice). Also, is a tape backup the way to go? What about a Bernoulli (sp?) box? Are Bernoulli catridges expensive compared to tape backup system and tapes? How much can a typical tape catridge hold, Bernoulli cartridge? What about reliability of tape systems and Bernoulli systems? Thanks for any and all replies! Please respond directly to me, since my news feed is unreliable, to say the least. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark H.
