[comp.sys.ibm.pc] XON/XOFF on the serial port?

richard@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu (Richard Foulk) (05/10/89)

I need to connect a pc up to a Unix system that doesn't have
good support for hardware handshaking. Does anyone have a
driver or patch or something that will let me do a "ctty com1"
and have XON/XOFF flow-control so I can hook things up at 9600 baud?

The pc is a fairly fast 386 machine so speed shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks.

I have a serial driver that allows Wordstar to run a serial
printer with Xon/Xoff. I will dig it up if you are still
interested. It overwrites an interrupt location, which may not
be a problem depending on whether or not you are already using
it.
