*************************SUN SALE UPDATE*************************
I would update my notes message I wrote a few days ago:
The SUN 3/75 system package now includes:
SUN 3/75 CPU (same as SUN 3/160)
19" monochrome monitor
Imagewriter printer
Keyboard
Optical mouse
8Meg on board 120ns memory
All the documentation you'll ever want to read.
Hard Drives (2 x 70Meg)
Tape backup System (cartridge)
SunOS Operating System (3.0)
Can hookup with other computers or network through built in
Ethernet
Serial ports
If new this system would originally run over $25000.
However, it is not so were asking just $7000 for it!!
This is more than a 70% savings!!
*************More Info**********************
I upon closer examination of the machine: I would like to make a
few comments:
1) The hard drives are (according to others)--Bad.
You can have them, but I'm am pretty sure that you
will have to buy new drives.
If you can get them working--Good for you.
2) The Math/Scientific Software is no longer included in
the package. (I found out that we are renting it)
3) That is not a Parallel port in the back, but two serial
ports.
4) The System is presently under SunOS 3.0.
If you buy it you would probably want to upgrade it to
SunOS 4.0.
5) The system came standard with 4Meg RAM on the main
motherboard. We are throwing in another 4Meg RAM board.
This 2nd Board is Brand New(Still in the shipping box and
still in the anti-static bag (ClearPoint) It costed us $3000).
6) As far as past repairs--There is a new Fly-Back Transformer
for the monitor. (No other probs I know of)
7) If you have many SUNS on networks, You can just hook it up
to the network and it should go.
8) If you don't have a NetWork-New drives and maybe New SunOS
will be needed.
9) And, yes theres nothing wrong with the CPU, Mouse, keyboard, etc
Any Questions???
