Strangely enough, a variable clock would in fact work on the A2630, at least over a range, providing it was a decent looking clock. Which could be a problem; I even had trouble getting canned 25Mhz crystal oscillators nice enough in the beginning. However, it's morally improper to artifically slow down any computer system. Better to just waste cycles... > on most machines you can do this in software. in fact i've got some > rays you could trace for me... i'm trying to animate a ray-traced > grand-canyon fly-thru with kajya-style diffuse reflections. But seriously, I've wondered how I could pick up a few bucks running ray traces for someone. See, I've got these killer systems at home and at work, and try as I might, I can't use both at the same time. So at any given moment, I have this totally unused 25Mhz system pretty much just sitting there (obviously I don't render stuff myself). -- Dave Haynie "The 32 Bit Guy" Commodore-Amiga "The Crew That Never Rests" {uunet|pyramid|rutgers}!cbmvax!daveh PLINK: D-DAVE H BIX: hazy Amiga -- It's not just a job, it's an obsession
