Here's the situation: I can get my hands on an ibm compatible pc (compatible with the original ibm pc, either 8088 or 8086). (i'd say 7 or 8 years old at least, built in monitor). cheap. I want to keep the controller board, hard disk drive, floppy disk drive, serial boards etc. I want to upgrade to a 386 machine. preferably in the 16-25 Mhz range. i planned on using an intel 386 inboard. i can get such a board with 1 MB ram for 600$. questions: *) is this possible? *) anyone done this?(relate experiences) *) alternative solutions for the same price. i will post if i get enough mail. please send email directly to me at: -- conan@vax1.acs.udel.edu OR conan@192.5.57.1 CONAN THE BARBARIAN of Cimmeria
